With continuing restrictions in place due to Coronavirus, including limits on the number of people permitted in our church buildings, Christmas is going to be very different this year. This has led to the PCCs taking a very difficult decision in relation to the traditional Christmas services. Unfortunately, no services will be held in any of our churches on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. In addition, there will be no Christingle or Carol Services.
It is appreciated this will be a huge disappointment to many people within our communities and the decision was not taken lightly but was taken in the interests of keeping everyone safe and avoiding the very real prospect of having to turn people away at the church door due to lack of space, unfortunately, unlike in Bethlehem, we don’t have a spare stable!!
Although we will not be able to meet together to celebrate the birth of Jesus in the usual way, there will be a range of resources available on the Church of England website, so please look at those.
Let us all pray that an effective vaccine is not far away and we will soon be able to safely gather to worship. In the meantime, stay well and don’t forget the love of God is with us at all times.
